A tier where we supply the key and you do not manage one has been designed on paper. It is not offered, not built, and not being sold. We are deliberately not calling it "coming soon" and not naming a launch window, because the gate it sits behind is not a schedule.
- Commercial terms must be verified first. Whether we may serve and meter a third-party model to end users is not assumed permitted; it has to be checked before anything is built.
- Hard caps must be demonstrated to fail closed before a single managed answer runs — when a plan's allowance is exhausted, it stops and tells you. No overage billing, ever, in any form.
- Real spending must be approved by our CEO before we incur inference cost on anyone's behalf.

Why isn't everything free?
Most of it is. The Pistis Sophia translation and the modernized scripture are public domain — not ours to sell, and gating them would be indefensible. The essays and primer are outreach. Search and citation are free across everything.
What is paid is the part we wrote: the full 39-book Old Testament read verse by verse, 929 chapters of original commentary, which took real time and real cost to produce. One hundred ninety-seven of those chapters are free in full, chosen so a reader who never pays still sees the work at its strongest rather than only at its opening. The remainder funds the rest being written. That is the whole argument — we are not restricting access to create pressure, we are charging for authorship.
Why these numbers?
Our hosting cost is low and, more importantly, flat — a database and a thin app layer that does not get more expensive when the hundredth reader arrives. So the price is not set by cost recovery. It is checked against what comparable products actually charge (verified 2026-08-05): Logos, the closest direct comparable — a serious, deep Bible-study tool rather than a casual reading app — starts at $9.99/month and $99.99/year. BibleGateway Plus is $6.99/month for premium access to others' commentary, not original scholarship. JSTOR's JPASS, the closest general research-subscription comparable, is $19.50/month. Our $9/month sits almost exactly on Logos's own entry tier — a defensible, market-appropriate number, not a guess at the highest figure people would tolerate.
It is a subscription rather than a one-time sale because the corpus keeps growing past the Old Testament, so a subscriber keeps receiving new work. The $90 annual and $180 perpetual options exist for different payment preferences, not as pressure: annual is a plain standing discount, and the one-time price is there so anyone who dislikes recurring charges has a real way out of one.
These figures replaced an earlier $6 / $60 / $120 recommendation, and it is worth saying why rather than quietly changing a number. That earlier figure was priced against a partial nine-book sample of an unfinished project; what is on offer now is a complete, finished 39-book Old Testament — 732 paid chapters. There are also no existing subscribers: billing has never gone live, so nobody is being charged twice or having a price raised out from under them. The structure is unchanged — annual is still ten months' worth, the one-time price still pays back at twenty months — and the $2 floor and free-on-request access are exactly as they were.
Could these prices still change?
Yes, in one specific way: they are the figures we are currently running with, set after our CEO delegated the pricing decision, and his sign-off is still what our approval rule requires before we charge anyone. He could adjust them. If he does, this page changes and says so.
What will not change is the shape of the promise. Existing subscribers will not have their price raised without explicitly opting in, the free path will not shrink, and the $2 floor and free-on-request access are not going away. If a number moves, it moves in public and on this page.
